You know what I hate the most about this? The absolute only difference between Naomi Watts, Kate Blanchett, Nicole Kidman, and Rebel Wilson is that the first three of these women are thin. There is nothing else that makes them more “ravishing” than Rebel, who is stunning. (I mean, look at her even without makeup!)
The wording here upsets me: “Kidman, Blanchett, Watts…Wilson?” There is a question mark after her name, insinuating that it’s surprising for her to be included in this list. Then it goes on to say that “while Australia is known for producing [beautiful women]” that Rebel’s look is “less conventional”. What is that even supposed to mean? “Unique charm,” they say? Why couldn’t they have said “unique beauty” instead?
Sorry for the question-laden mini-rant, but this really pisses me off. Rebel Wilson is just as gorgeous as the other women named; was it really necessary for the author to avert that fact and use fuckin’ euphemisms just because she’s a little heftier than them? I can think of no other reason why she did this because she had no problem pointing out that the other celebrities in her list were pretty without makeup (all of which were thin). Is it really so shameful for her to admit the same thing about Rebel?
I don’t usually go on about weight discrimination with this blog, but I just couldn’t overlook this because it was so blatantly obvious.
